Fasting

If your overweight, tired, constipated, sick or just want renewed health, then juice fasting is for you! Juice fasting is safe and can allow the body to clean itself of toxins while greatly improving your health.

Through juice fasting, thousands of individuals have been freed from serious diseases such as cancer, leukemia, arthritis, high blood pressure, kidney disorders, skin infections, liver disorders, alcoholism and smoking. Do not juice fast if you have impaired kidney function. Juices are easy to assimilate and take hardly any digestive energy from the body, allowing the body to put more energy into healing and rejuvenation.

Juice fasting works because it removes toxins that hinder the body's God-given recuperative abilities. Juice fasting is the preferred method amongst many doctors and European fasting clinics.

The amount of juice you drink will determine the intensity of cleansing. Drinking small amounts of juice supplies fewer calories, thereby increasing detoxification. For this reason, most of the recoveries from illness have taken place in the latter parts of long juice or water fasts. Fruit juices have a laxative effect that is more pronounced than a water fast. Try short juice fasts of 3 to 5 days before progressing to longer fasts. For whatever reason you may chose to fast, one dramatic element is the immediate and dramatic loss of stored body fat.

The bible speaks of fasting and Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights while in the desert, prior to the three temptations (Matthew 4:2, Luke 4:2). Jesus said, "But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who sees in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you," Matthew 6:17-18. Jesus, the Son of God, was a man of fasting and prayer (Matthew 4:2). Fasting is Assumed by the New Testament: When Jesus spoke about fasting, he didn't say if you fast, but "when you fast" (Matthew 6:16). He clarified some of the best reasons for fasting and listed both physical and spiritual benefits that would result (Isaiah 58:3-13).

Fasting allows a deep, physiological rest of the digestive organs, and the energy saved goes into self-healing and self-repairing. The first few days of fasting gets rid of the gross waste products of digestion, but only after this can the body pull out its tools to get to work on healing.

The second stage is the cleansing of mucous, fat, diseased and dying cells, and the more easily removed toxins. To overcome a severe disease like cancer, it is important to continue through a series of fasts, to the point where the full scouring action removes the disease from the tissue.

The cleansing response that happens is dependent on experience with fasting, current health and level of toxins and sickness in your body. Back pain may increase due to toxins in the lower intestine. Back pain often decreases after elimination of the toxins. A self massage, hot baths, stretching and exercising will help to release the toxins. When cleansed of mucus and toxins, the skin will be healthy, soft and unblemished. When the body is full of toxins, its defense systems are not able to operate effectively.

Although fasting is not recommended in every situation, (cancer of the liver is one instance where fasting is contraindicated), in many situations fasting is the only known solution. Fasting is the greatest healing method known to man.

If we allow nature to take its course, we will find that we can heal from any problem. Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin.

When breaking a fast over ten days, the break-in period should be extended one day for every 4 days of fasting. Always check with your doctor before starting a fast.

Day 10

Last day ... and I am not looking forward to ending this fast.

I am going to finish off the day with my lemonade and cayenne. I have dropped 19 lbs and I know I will gain a few back with my first day with food.

The most important thing is to start food slowly and I will get up tomorrow morning, I will start the day with some vegetable broth and a couple pieces of orange. Coming out of detox is as important as going in. Slow is the rule. But I will only eat fruits and veggies for 3 days in very small amounts every couple of hours. I will continue to drink lots of juice.

Day 9

One more day !! I can't believe it went this quick.

Fasting is the best thing you can do for your intestines. It gives them a much needed rest and if done with detoxing can rid yourself of many parasites in your system.

This is my 9th day of fasting and it has been a great nine days. I am now about 17 lbs thinner not to mention; my skin is very soft and clear. I feel better than I have in a long time and I have a great amount of energy.

I have decided to finish my fast with the lemonade and cayenne pepper. I just read an article in the 'Woman World' magazine - edition October 2008 and they have a great article on the 'Miracle' lemonade diet and detoxing and how it is sweeping through the British. It states that it will put your metabolism in high gear and will rid you of tons of parasites and renew energy at the same time.

Just put 5, 7 or 10 days aside from your busy life and try it. It will be the best experience of your life - I promise !!
